A project that's been put on hold during the school term has been the scattered flower pincushion and with the lovely long weekend I figured why not finish it? The pattern was taken from one of my favourite craft books called softies by Therese Laskey (as seen in the first photo) though I changed some of the colours to make it more to my taste! It was the first time I'd ever used blanket stitch and it went surprisingly well with no major stuff-ups. You'd be surprised at how much stuffing can be packed into something of that size! Now I'm almost too scared to stick any pins in the flowers for fear of ruining it though it was very fun to make!
